Litigation is a Team Sport - Draft Your Players Carefully
The management of litigation typically requires the participation of multiple individuals since few cases are so uncomplicated and relate to so few documents as to lend themselves to handling by only one person. Choosing the people for a case, however, is itself no simple task because the talents and experience required to resolve a matter successfully vary with the matter in so many ways.
Accordingly, that selection must take into account an analysis of each candidate's experience, expertise and other attributes. The individual making that selection (typically, an attorney in the corporate law department) should strive to identify and include "appropriate counsel" for each matter.
