Corporate Ethics Fine-Tuned

The Sentencing Guidelines for Organizational Defendants provide a firm justification for a corporate compliance program in several respects. Changes made to those guidelines over the past few decades have also served as markers for parallel evolution of corporate programs. Monitoring and accounting for those changes in an organization's program, then, constitutes an important feature of an "effective" program. This article reviews the changes adopted in 2004 and their continuing impact.
